Takako Hida
Master Stylist | Colorist
Takako Hida brings together more than two decades of LAICALE history with a career in hair that began in Tokyo, Japan. Educated and trained in Tokyo, Takako developed her early foundation in the craft before moving to New York City 27 years ago and beginning the next chapter of her career in the East Village.
More than 20 years ago, Takako joined LAICALE SoHo as an assistant, where she was mentored by the LAICALE team and immersed herself in the salon’s approach to cutting, color, and individualized hair. Over the years, she refined her technique, expanded her expertise, and worked her way through the salon to become a Master Stylist & Colorist and one of LAICALE’s longest-standing team members.
Equally accomplished in cutting and color, Takako is a multifaceted stylist with the ability to take a client through their complete look. Her experience across both disciplines allows her to consider the relationship between cut, color, texture, and movement rather than treating each service independently. The result is hair that feels cohesive, natural, and uniquely suited to the person wearing it.
Despite the depth of experience behind her work, Takako’s philosophy is refreshingly simple: she wants people to leave her chair feeling happy and confident. Warm, thoughtful, and attentive, she creates an experience where clients feel comfortable being themselves—and leave feeling like the best version of themselves.
