Sean-Michael Gioia
Salon Manager
At 19, Sean moved to Los Angeles to pursue modeling, beginning a chapter that would introduce him firsthand to the worlds of fashion and entertainment. Years later, in 2020, Sean entered the professional beauty industry when he joined Christie & Co. Salon in Bayside, New York, as a receptionist. What began as an introduction to the salon world quickly became an invaluable education when owner Lois Christie took him under her wing. He continues to credit much of his understanding of the beauty industry to her mentorship and considers the opportunity to have learned alongside her an extraordinary privilege.
After leaving Christie & Co., Sean continued to broaden his experience within several luxury hair establishments before joining LAICALE SoHo in 2024. There, he found an environment particularly suited to him, one rooted in individuality, artistry, and an appreciation for exceptional craft.
Although Sean has never had the desire to become a hairstylist himself, he has developed a deep admiration for the artistry of hair. Working alongside talented artists at LAICALE allows him to experience creativity from another perspective, and he continues to find inspiration in watching each stylist interpret beauty through their own individual eye and technique.
Today, his work in beauty and fashion exist naturally alongside one another—two creative worlds connected by craftsmanship, storytelling, and the belief that true luxury is ultimately something personal. Expanding his creative work further into fashion, Sean is currently designing his own clothing line.
